Successful Event! Janea Matchett presented to the Media Financial Management Association. Ms. Matchett provided a primer on how to ensure full compliance with state unclaimed property law.

Janea Machett, an accomplished Attorney and Certified Public Accountant, joins Keane's UPSD and opens Keane's Atlanta regional office.  As Project Manager for UPSD, Janea will be directly involved with client engagements including Consulting, Audit Support and Voluntary Filing projects.

Janea Matchett was invited to speak to the Media Financial Management Association on October 21st 2008.  Ms. Matchett provided a primer on how to ensure full compliance with state unclaimed property law.

Michigan issues Notice to Holders: "The Michigan Department of Treasury is undertaking an education and enforcement initiative to improve compliance with the Uniform Unclaimed Property Act (Public Act 29 of 1995). This initiative will include auditing of entities that have not been filing unclaimed property reports. Entities that voluntarily file past due reports will not be charged penalty and interest. Unclaimed property audits conducted by the state will focus on holders who have not voluntarily filed reports for the past four years. State conducted audits will cover the last 10 years, as authorized by the Uniform Unclaimed Property Act."
