Debbie L. Zumoff
Keane's Executive Vice President & Chief Compliance Officer

Over the last 25 years, Debbie has directed the development and delivery of Keane’s unclaimed property compliance solutions. She is an experienced consultant, skilled at helping clients implement strategies in compliance with obligations to state unclaimed property regulations. Her field expertise is respected among industry executives and state administrators alike, which has facilitated her work representing corporate holders in support of audit scenarios and negotiating Voluntary Disclosure Agreements. She regularly develops and delivers customized corporate education and training programs to executives and operational teams on industry best practices and risk management techniques.

Debbie is an active member of the National Society of Compliance Professionals, the Unclaimed Property Professionals Organization, the Shareholder Services Association, the Securities Transfer Association and the Investment Company Institute. She also represents Keane as a corporate affiliate to the National Association of State Treasurers and the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators. She regularly speaks to these and other industry associations, regulatory agencies and legislative bodies on the scope and impact of changes in the unclaimed property arena.

Debbie holds a Juris Doctor Degree from the Villanova University School of Law and a B.A. in Psychology from Arcadia University.

Valerie M. Jundt
Keane's National Managing Director, National Consulting & Advisory Services Group

Valerie brings over 27 years of diverse and extensive unclaimed property experience to the Unclaimed Property Industry. Her responsibilities have included serving as a national liaison for state/corporate relations, marketing and practice development. She has worked extensively with clients from all industries and the various states in resolving compliance issues arising from state audits, voluntary compliance initiatives, enforcement actions and law changes. Valerie has also been instrumental in assisting clients in developing strategies for unclaimed property audit defense and best practices relating to unclaimed property policies and procedures. As a former state unclaimed property administrator and the former Executive Director for the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (NAUPA) for 12 years, Valerie’s unique background is unparalleled in the industry.

Valerie is a co-author to the Unclaimed Property Treatise published by the Bureau of National Affairs (BNA) in May, 2006 (re-released in June, 2008) and has been quoted in a number of national publications including Money Magazine, Redbook, Women’s World, Good Housekeeping, and Readers Digest. She was interviewed for feature stories which aired on various statewide and local television programs including: Dateline NBC, CNN, Fox News, NBC Nightly News, EXTRA and Wallstreet Journal Reports. Val is also a highly sought-after subject matter specialist on the topic of unclaimed property and has been featured as a key-note speaker for various national trade associations and conferences.

Valerie is a recipient of NAUPA’s highest honor, the NAUPA Lifetime Achievement Award, presented to her in 2008. She also received a “Presidential Distinguished Service Award” for her contributions to NAUPA both in 1989 and 1996. Val has been actively involved in the Unclaimed Property Professional’s Organization (UPPO) since 2001. She has received several acknowledgements of appreciation for her work on the Education Committee and is a recipient of the UPPO 2004 “Team Player Award”.

Prior to joining Keane, Valerie spent more than ten years as the national manager of state relations for Deloitte & Touche LLP's (now Thomson Reuters) unclaimed property practice. She also served as the Executive Director for NAUPA for four years and as the Unclaimed Property Administrator for the State of North Dakota for 12 years.

Val graduated Magna Cum Laude from Dickinson State University.

Laura Lane
Vice President, Unclaimed Property Services

Laura joined Keane after spending five years as Senior Manager and Area Leader of the unclaimed funds client services practice at Ernst & Young LLP, serving Fortune 500 clients from the Midwest, Ohio Valley and Mid Atlantic areas of the firm’s practice.

She is a proven business advocate who has provided multi-disciplinary support to a broad base of corporate clients in her 28 years of experience. Her in-depth and varied experiences in the unclaimed property arena enable her to assist clients on a broad range of unclaimed property advisory services and directives aimed at minimizing exposure, reducing risk and managing compliance strategies.

Laura has also directed on a national basis, the unclaimed property compliance and legislative efforts of a large multi-product, non-bank financial institution. Her defeat of legislative proposals to prohibit service charges on dormant property preserved a company’s multi-million dollar annual revenue stream. Laura previously spent eleven years as in-house counsel for a Pennsylvania based electric utility in a variety of capacities, including unclaimed property and securities compliance as well as corporate finance transactions.

Sonia M. Walwyn
Mid-Western Regional Vice President, Unclaimed Property Services

Sonia joins Keane from her role as Senior Manager, State & Local Tax Practice Leader with KPMG in Chicago. Her responsibilities included establishing an abandoned and unclaimed property practice for the Midwest region, serving client needs in the form of audit defense and compliance outsourcing. In addition, she managed proactive services to reduce overall exposure and accomplish compliance through voluntary means. Previously, Sonia developed a national unclaimed property practice at Price Waterhouse Coopers, where she was Director of Tax & Legal Services, and National Director of Abandoned and Unclaimed Property Services. Her professional experience also includes tenures with Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Treasury Department and the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PaPUC).

Sonia holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Elizabethtown College, and a Juris Doctorate from the Dickinson School of Law. In addition, she earned an LLM in Taxation from the Villanova University School of Law.  She is a CPA in both Illinois and Pennsylvania.

Jeanne Evans
Project Manager, Unclaimed Property Services

Jeanne Evans joined Keane in 2005 as Project Manager for the Unclaimed Property Services. Jeanne has over 20 years of accounting experience with a background in escheatment and benefits administration in both the Corporate and Consulting/Outsourcing arenas. Her in-depth experience brings a true appreciation for every facet of projects from both a substantive and time management perspective. Jeanne’s “roll up your sleeves” approach to managing multi-client/division projects allows her to keep track of multiple deadlines and deliverables as well as manage research and analyze data in partnership with our clients. Jeanne holds a BS in Accounting from Rider University.

Janea Matchett
Senior Project Manager, Unclaimed Property Services

Janea is an attorney with a diverse background in unclaimed property consulting. Before joining Keane in October 2007, she provided independent consulting services through Matchett Associates LLC, a company she founded in 2005 to advise corporations on compliance with state unclaimed property laws. Prior to this, she concentrated on unclaimed property compliance with the tax practices of Deloitte and Ernst & Young, advising companies operating in the technology, finance, healthcare, retail, and manufacturing industries. Janea holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC and a Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
